A Committed Resolution
New Year’s Resolutions- we’ve all made them, even those in ancient times. It has been said that the ancient Babylonians were the first to make these resolutions around 4,000 years ago as they held recorded celebrations to ring in the new year (which started in mid-March for them). So, even though we have been making and breaking these goals year after year, why does the tradition continue?
The answer is simple. With a new year comes a time to improve life with new ambitions and purpose. It is a hypothetical restart to relieve the weight of the past year, that makes way for hope and excitement. Since 2018 is finally here, we decided to ask a few of our Committed Pig employees if they made any resolutions and what they were. Check out a few of them and see if they spark any inspiration for those of you struggling to come up with one:
- Drink more water and less soda
- Visit Amsterdam
- Find an apartment
- Go to Greece
- Make the Dean’s list at school
- Stop biting my nails
- Stop procrastinating
- Move to NYC
- Eat out less and travel more
- To not let small things that are out of my control, bother me
- Learn to salsa
- Go to the gym more
- Stop texting and driving
- Floss more
- Stop having road rage
- Stop buying so much stuff that I don’t need
- Go out more
- Stop using curse words
- Take my grandma out to lunch more
- Keep my room cleaner
New Year’s Resolutions may be unique to the individual but are often universal. Find something you’ve been wanting to change or looking to accomplish for a while a make it happen. Make 2018 the year you keep your resolution. Like maybe eating more Committed Pig? Have you tried everything on the menu yet? It’s just a suggestion, but we think it’s a good one!
